Yasuyuki Konno ( Japanese 今 野 泰 幸 ; born January 25, 1983 in Sendai ) is a Japanese football player .
Career
society
Konno played in his youth for the school team of the Tōhoku high school in his hometown. After that it was not taken over by the local Vegalta Sendai . Instead, he came to the first division club Consadole Sapporo . Already in the first two years he was regularly used in the top Japanese league, but then the club, which was struggling with financial problems, had to move into the second division. There the versatile defender was a regular player, but after the promotion failed, Konno had to be given up.
The first division club FC Tokyo then secured his services and he became a regular player and a solid pillar of the capital club. With him, the club won the Yamazaki Nabisco Cup , today's J. League Cup , in the first year . In 2009 he went back to win the J. League Cup. At the end of 2010 he had to take the club to the second division. A year later he became champion of the J2 League and rose straight back to the first division. For Tokyo, he completed a total of 254 games and scored 33 goals. After promotion, he left Tokyo and joined the first division team Gamba Osaka from Suita in 2012 . After a year he had to relegate back to the second division. In 2013 he became champion de J2 and rose straight back to the top division. In 2014 he was surprisingly Japanese football champion with the club as a newcomer. In the master's year he won the J. League Cup and the Emperor's Cup with Osaka . In 2015 they confirmed the good performance of the previous season and became runner-up. Also in 2015 he was in the finals of the J. League Cup and the Emperor's Cup. The Emperor's Cup was won, the J. League Cup was a loser. In 2016 they reached the final of the J. League Cup, but that they lost on penalties against the Urawa Red Diamonds . In mid-2019 he signed a contract with second division Júbilo Iwata in Iwata .
National team
Yasuyuki Konno was a member of the Japanese national teams in Sapporo and later in Tokyo. He took part in the U-19 Asian Cup and the U-20 World Cup in 2003. At the 2004 Olympics , he played three games for the Japanese selection. On August 3, 2005, he completed his first international match in the senior team against China at the East Asian Cup . Nevertheless, he was not able to establish himself there at first and was not considered at the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Only then did national coach Takeshi Okada , who had signed him as coach of Consadole Sapporo in 2001, bring him back to the national team on a regular basis. This time, he was also in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa in the World Cup squad . However, he was only the fifth man in the Japanese defensive team and was left behind in the line-up. It was only in the third round of the game that he made his only brief assignment in the final minutes.
