Karl-Heinz "Kalle" Wienhold (born September 30, 1953 in Neubrandenburg ) was a football goalkeeper in the GDR Oberliga , where he worked for FC Vorwärts Frankfurt / O. stood in the gate.

career

Karl-Heinz Wienhold began his football career at SC Neubrandenburg in 1964 at the age of eleven , from which the company sports association (BSG) Post Neubrandenburg emerged in April 1966 . His first coach was the then league player Jürgen Schröder , who put him in goal after a short time.

In the 1972/73 season Wienhold was included in the first men's team from Post, which played in the second-rate GDR league . On the 5th matchday he came to his first league appearance in the game FC Hansa II - Post Neubrandenburg (0: 2). For the 1974/75 season he was Post's regular goalkeeper, who remained the trained electrician until he left for Plauen in 1976 .

In November 1976, during his military service with the border troops of the GDR , the goalkeeper was delegated to the Saxon ASG Vorwärts Plauen , which represented a catchment basin for talented players in the army. In Plauen he did not appear in the first team and was already on January 1, 1977 for the upper division FC Vorwärts Frankfurt / O. further delegated.

With forward he came in the second half of the 1976/77 season, however, only to a use in the junior league . On the 5th day of the 1977/78 season he made his debut in the GDR league in the game 1. FC Magdeburg - FCV (1-0) and immediately took over the position of goalkeeper from Eckhard Kreutzer . In his first league season he came to 21 stakes. At the end of the season, Frankfurt relegated to the GDR league, but with goalkeeper Wienhold, who completed 22 of the 30 league and promotion games played , the team returned to the first class after a year. Due to a broken rib in the UEFA Cup game at VfB Stuttgart , he lost his regular place after the 8th matchday of the 1980/81 season again to Kreutzer. As a result, he was not used in Frankfurt's last FDGB Cup final . In the following season Wienhold was again number one in the goal of the army club, with which he brought in the DDR runner-up in the 1982/83 season alongside Lothar home , Frieder Andrich and Lutz Otto . As an expression of his consistently good performance, there is a series of 96 point games in a row from September 25, 1982 to May 10, 1986. After the season 1987/88 , in the Vorwärts Frankfurt after drastic austerity measures by the superordinate army sports association Vorwärts again from the GDR league relegated, Karl-Heinz Wienhold - at that time in the rank of first lieutenant - ended his career after 222 top division point games.

At the international level, Wienhold made eight appearances in the UEFA Cup for FC Vorwärts, where he played against such well-known teams as VfB Stuttgart, Werder Bremen , Nottingham Forest and PSV Eindhoven . He cannot refer to assignments in a GDR selection team, he only received invitations to be available on call. In April 1983 a curiosity arose: he received three invitations ( national team , Olympic selection and junior selection ) for the same date.

At the beginning of the nineties ( 1992/93 ) he was again active for six games in the Northeast Football League for the club, which has now been renamed FC Viktoria 91 in Frankfurt .
