Yaw Preko (born September 8, 1974 in Accra ) is a former Ghanaian football player who was used in the storm.

Preko played a total of 68 times in the Ghanaian national team and scored at least five goals. He was also U-17 world champion in 1991 and won the bronze medal with the U-23 team at the 1992 Olympic Games .

Career

his career originally began with Powerlines , a small Ghanaian club. Preko's first European club was RSC Anderlecht . There he won three Belgian championships , once the Belgian Cup and once the Belgian Supercup. From 1977 to 2004 he played in Turkey. After that he was signed to Halmstads BK . However, he left this club in 2005 because Halmstads BK did not want to extend his contract. Preko moved to Al-Ettifaq and played there until 2007. He then played for Hoàng Anh Gia Lai , a club from Vietnam, and finally ended his career there in 2007, although he repeatedly indicated his interest in returning to the Ghanaian league.
