Yaylapınar is a village in the Şemdinli district of the Turkish province of Hakkâri . Yaylapınar is located about 140 km southeast of the provincial capital Hakkâri and 20 km southwest of Şemdinli. According to the last census, Yaylapınar had 860 inhabitants (as of December 2010).

The population consists mainly of Turks , but there are also some Kurds who have moved from the surrounding villages . Yaylapınar, Beyyurdu , Boğazköy and Uğuraçan are the only Turkish-settled villages in Hakkâri Province. The former name of the village was Salaran. This is derived from the Kurdish word for commanders.
