Yenibahçe is a place in the Silifke district of the Turkish province of Mersin . Yenibahçe was a village with a population of 360 at last until 2012 and then became part of the district center of Silifke after a regional reform . The place is about 10 kilometers northeast of Silifke and 60 kilometers southwest of the provincial capital Mersin . It is located in the Yenibahçe Deresi valley named after him , which stretches from the coastal town of Atakent on the Mediterranean Sea into the mountainous interior to İmamlı . To the west and east of the valley run two roads that come from Atakent and meet behind İmamlı to continue from there to Uzuncaburç . A steep road that serpentines these two paths crosses the village of Yenibahçe at the bottom of the valley.

On the western side, high above the gorge, lies the ruins of Barakçıkale with buildings from the Hellenistic to Roman - early Byzantine times. The remains of Paslı and Tekkadın can be found in a similar location on the east side .
