Yogi-Tee is the protected brand for " Ayurvedic Spice Tea " of the Golden Temple Company in Eugene , USA , which was founded in the early 1980s and is now based in Springfield (Oregon) . The distribution in Germany, Austria and Switzerland is taken over by the Hamburg- based Golden Temple Natural Products GmbH .

Initially, there was only one classic type of tea on offer , named after the yoga teacher Yogi Bhajan (1929-2004) and prepared according to his original recipes. This contained no black tea , but consists of a mixture of spices with cinnamon , cardamom , ginger , cloves and black pepper . Like fruit tea or herbal tea, it is one of the tea-like drinks. Today there are over 50 different tea blends from this manufacturer on offer, for example with ingredients such as chicory root , aniseed , coriander or cocoa . Chai , herbal teas and green teas are also produced under the Yogi-Tea brand .

Yogi teas have been made largely from organically produced ingredients since the 1990s . The tea blends were initially drunk in Europe by people in the New Age movement and by vegetarians and were only available in specialist shops such as B. health food stores or health food stores. Since the beginning of the 21st century, yogi tea products have also been sold in large retail chains .
