Youssef Ibram

Youssef Ibram (born around 1954 in Fez , Morocco ) is a Moroccan-Swiss Islamic theologian and Wahhābit lawyer. He has been active for Islam in Europe from Switzerland for over 30 years and was a member of the European Fatwa Council .

Live and act

He took a degree in Islamic law ( Sharia ) in Riyadh ( Saudi Arabia ). He worked as an imam at the great Geneva mosque at various times, from the 1980s to the early 1990s and the second time between 2001 and 2005. He later became imam of a mosque in District 6 of Zurich , later of the Islamic Community of Volketswil Zurich (IGVZ). The preacher is considered controversial in Switzerland. The spokesman for the Volketswil mosque , Daniel Ibrahim Kientzler, commented on this in an interview with the ZüriNews television station : “He's mainly changed in the press and I know liberal dances, so-called Islam experts, where there is little or no knowledge of Islam little hands on the hat. "

A contract that had already been concluded for a third term at the Geneva mosque as the successor to the Algerian imam Ziane Mehadjri was terminated in 2016. He also teaches at the French education center Center Shatibi in Lyon . Youssef Ibram was the only Swiss imam to be a member of the European Fatwa Council (ECFR).

He speaks Arabic , French and German , is married and has four children.
