Yucca recurvifolia is a species of palm lily ( Yucca ) in the asparagus family (Asparagaceae).
description
The trunk-forming, bushy and group-forming species reaches a height of 1 to 3 meters. In contrast to Yucca gloriosa , the leaves are wider and the underside is rough. The leaves are smooth-edged to slightly toothed, green to gray-green, 0.6 to 1 meter long and 2 to 3.5 cm wide.
The branched inflorescence that begins between the leaves reaches a height of 1 to 1.5 meters and protrudes above the leaves. The flowering time falls in spring in contrast to Yucca gloriosa , which blooms in autumn. In Europe there are numerous different forms of culture that make classification difficult. Yucca recurvifolia is hardy .
distribution
The home of the Yucca recurvifolia is in the coastal regions of the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico in the southeastern United States in the US states of Alabama (south), Florida (north), Georgia (south), Louisiana (southeast) and Mississippi (south).
