Yukmouth (born October 18, 1974 in Oakland , California ; actually Jerold Dwight Ellis, II ) is an American rapper .

biography

Yukmouth, rapper and owner of Smoke-A-Lot Records , in mid-1990, especially on the side of his partner Numskull aka Sir Drank-A-Lot by the smash hit I Got 5 on It as one half of the duo Luniz known .

With increasing popularity and serious differences between label and band, as well as between the two band members Yukmouth and Numskull, they parted ways and Yuk began working as a solo artist at the Houston, Texas-based label Rap-A-Lot Records . He released three solo albums there, all of which entered the Billboard charts , albeit with less and less success, before he was granted his own label with distribution by Rap-A-Lot. He named his label Smoke-A-Lot Records, which he derived from his alias Smoke-A-Lot. This is what he has called himself since his time at The Luniz, which can be found mainly on the Luniz album Lunitik Muzik and in the accompanying inlays.

Yukmouth is also a co-founder and member of the hip-hop collective The Regime , a gangsta rap group also known as The Smoke-A-Lot Regime.

At the end of 2006, Yuk was in contact with Numskull again to get a new official studio album from The Luniz on the way.
