Yumiko Shige ( Japanese 重 由美子 , Shige Yumiko ; born August 4, 1965 in Karatsu ; † December 9, 2018 there ) was a Japanese sailor .
successes
Yumiko Shige took part in three Olympic Games with Alicia Kinoshita in the 470 dinghy . In 1992 , they initially took fifth place in Barcelona . Four years later in Atlanta they finished the regatta with 36 total points behind the Spanish and in front of the Ukrainian boat in second place and thus received the silver medal. They finished eighth at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney . At World Championships Shige and Kinoshita secured silver in Cádiz in 1992 and bronze in Toronto in 1995 .
