Yunus' story in the Koran

Yunus' story is told in the sura " as-Saffat ", from verse 139 to 148. There it says:

139. And Jonas was certainly one of the ambassadors.

140. So he fled to the loaded ship

141. and lost and lost.

142. And the great fish devoured him while he (Jonas, himself) rebuked him.

143. If he had not been among those who praise ( Allah )

144. He would certainly have remained in his belly until the day of resurrection.

145. Then We threw him outside, and he was sick.

146. And We made a gourd plant grow over him.

147. And We sent him in a hundred thousand or more

148. And they believed; so We gave them provision for a time.
