Education and musical career

Even in her early childhood, Shima was fascinated by her mother making music on the violin as a hobby. At the age of four she got her first own instrument and was taught how to play the violin by the music professor Keiko Umetani . Her music teacher recognized the girl's extraordinary talent and recommended that she be sent to the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna for further musical training in Austria . There she was accepted into the highly gifted program of the university in 2007 as a pupil of Marina Sorokowa and from 2010 attended the Piarist high school in the Josefstadt district of Vienna .

Even during her school days, Shima successfully took part in numerous national and international competitions, including in Kazakhstan , Italy and Poland . As a 12-year-old she won first prize at the 4th International Miroslaw Lawrynowicz Young Violinists Meeting in Płock , Poland. In April 2012 she won 3rd place in the Hertha Binder Prize for strings in the Josef Windisch competitions advertised at the Musikhochschule as part of the promotion of talented students and was also awarded a special prize for extraordinary achievements. In the same year she won first prize at the Austrian national competition “ prima la musica ”. In August 2013 she received a scholarship from the International Music Academy in the Principality of Liechtenstein , where she was a student of Leonid Sorokow , the husband of her university professor Marina Sorokowa. In 2014 and 2016, Shima was a member of the national Austrian selection for the European-wide classical music competition Eurovision Young Musicians , but was ultimately not sent to the competition as a representative of Austria.

Shortly after Shima graduated from the Piaristengymnasium in 2018 , she successfully applied for admission to the diploma program at the University of Music and Performing Arts with Stefan Kamilarov, whose preparatory course she had attended since 2014. Shima has been studying the violin, piano and viola since October 2018. She applied for a scholarship in the Erasmus program to deepen her education at foreign conservatories.
