Yusuf's Café Session is the first live album by the singer and songwriter Yusuf .

history

Yusuf's first live album (DVD only) was released in November 2007 and was recorded for the BBC in April 2007 as part of promotional purposes for the album An Other Cup . This is the first complete concert since November 22, 1979 (“Year of the Child” Unicef concert). When selecting the fifteen tracks, six tracks from his career under the stage name Cat Stevens and six tracks from his current studio album were selected. The Little Ones comes from the creative period as Yusuf Islam, the live set also contains two pieces by Yusuf (Islam) / Cat Stevens ( Wind East & West and How Long / Peace Train Blues ).

On page 10 of the sixteen-page DVD booklet there is the following sentence, which calls for religious tolerance and a peaceful life: “I don't think that God sent us prophets and books to fight about these books and these prophets. But they were telling us, actually, how to live together. If we ignore those teachings… whichever faith you belong, you profess, then I think we'll be finding ourselves in an even deeper mess, ”for example:“ I don't believe that God has sent us prophets and books to discuss them Books and prophets to quarrel. Rather, they told us how to live together. If we disregard these teachings - whatever religion we belong to - then I believe we will find ourselves in an even deeper crisis ”.
