Roadsinger (To Warm You Through the Night) is the second studio album by singer and songwriter Yusuf , formerly Cat Stevens.

history

Yusuf's second studio album was released in May 2009. The album sounds more acoustic than the previous album An Other Cup and is similar in sound to earlier works such as Mona Bone Jakon , Tea for the Tillerman or Teaser and the Firecat , which he published under the stage name Cat Stevens Years 1970/71.

The play Boots and Sand , which is only included in the Deluxe Edition, humorously treats his entry into the USA (and the subsequent deportation) in September 2004; Backing singers on this track were Paul McCartney and Dolly Parton .

The DVD also contains an interview with Cat Stevens and Alun Davies, which mostly covers the period between 1966 and 1978; The occasion was the 50th anniversary of Island Records , Cat Stevens / Yusuf's former (between 1970 and 1978) and since 2009 current label again.

In March 2009, Thinking 'Bout You was released as a download single; in July 2009 Roadsinger / Boots & Sand was released as a 7 "vinyl single.

The album reached number 9 in the German charts, number 10 in Great Britain and number 41 in the USA.

A VW bus designed by the German artist Klaus Voormann can be seen on the album cover .
