Yuval Rotem

Yuval Rotem (born March 21, 1959 in Tel-Aviv ) is an Israeli diplomat .

After serving in the Israeli armed forces from 1978 to 1981, Rotem studied political science and international relations at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem . In 1985 he received his Bachelor of Arts and in 1988 his Master of Arts , each with distinction.

In 1985 Rotem began to work in the Israeli Foreign Ministry . During his diplomatic career, he held various posts within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in various diplomatic missions abroad. From 1999 to 2004 he was Consul General in Los Angeles . In 2003 Rotem received the personal rank of ambassador . August 2007 he replaced Naftali Tamir as Israeli ambassador to Australia . This was dismissed in October 2006 because of remarks about Asians and up to Rotem arriving in Australia by the Chargé Irit Lillian been represented.

Rotem is married and has three children.
