Yves Baudrier

Yves Baudrier (born February 11, 1906 in Paris , † November 9, 1988 there ) was a French composer.

Live and act

Baudrier began studying law and philosophy before becoming a student of the organist Georges Loth . In 1936 he founded the Groupe Jeune-France with Jean-Yves Daniel-Lesur , André Jolivet and Olivier Messiaen , and he was considered the theoretician and spokesman for it. In 1945 he founded the Institut des Hautes Études Cinématographiques , where he taught until 1965.

In addition to numerous film scores, he composed symphonic poems , a symphony , cantatas , chamber music works as well as songs and wrote music theory writings.
