Career

In the club

Makabu-Makalambay is the son of a couple from the Democratic Republic of the Congo . Between 2002 and 2003 he played for PSV Eindhoven , but just like his next stations, Chelsea and Watford , to which he moved on loan, he never played. In 2007 Makabu-Makalambay finally moved to Hibernian Edinburgh . On his debut for the club against Heart of Midlothian , he remained clean and became the goalkeeper of the Hibs in the long run . After three years in Scotland , he moved to Swansea City for the Football League Championship in the summer of 2010 . There he was only used in four cup games and therefore moved to his native Belgium, where he joined the KV Mechelen .

In the national team

Makabu-Makalambay went through various youth national teams. In 2008 he was called up to the Belgian soccer team for the Olympic Games in Beijing , but only came on once when he came on for Logan Bailly in the quarter-finals against Italy . However, he later decided to play for the Congolese national team.
