Yvonne Monlaur , bourgeois Comtesse (Countess) Yvonne Thérèse Marie Camille Bedat de Monlaur (born  December 15, 1935 in Pau , France , † April 18, 2017 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ), was an inactive French actress since 1967 with leading roles in European Filming the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Live and act

Born in the foothills of the Pyrenees, the daughter of an exiled Russian count and a French ballet dancer followed in her mother's footsteps as a young girl and began performing as a dancer in the early post-war period. In August 1955, 19-year-old Yvonne Monlaur made her debut with a tiny role in front of the film camera. Her slightly exotic-looking beauty soon made Italian film producers aware of Monlaur, but it was only when she moved to Great Britain, where she made her English-language film debut in the comedy Inn for Trouble in 1959 , that her career took off. Yvonne Monlaur made a name for herself in 1960 with her appearances in two British horror films ( The Red Shadow , Dracula and His Brides ) and, after the Dracula film, another great film production, Terror of the Tongs (1961). A little later she returned to France and twice became a film partner of Eddie Constantine .

In 1965 Monlaur was up for discussion when the role of Domino in the James Bond film Thunderbolt , which eventually went to Claudine Auger, should be cast. A little later, Yvonne Monlaur ended her short-lived film career with appearances in two German crime novels, the Jerry Cotton flick The Bill - served ice cold and the first of the (then so-called) ZDF super thrillers, Death runs afterwards alongside Joachim Fuchsberger . In this farewell performance in 1967, she returned to her roots and in the first part embodied a dancer who was found dead by Fuchsberger. Then Yvonne Monlaur withdrew into private life.
