José Marco Nóbrega Ferreira de Melo , called Zé Marco (born March 19, 1971 in João Pessoa ) is a former Brazilian beach volleyball player .

Career

From 1992 to 1995, Zé Marco played his first international tournaments with Dennys and Paulo Emilio . He then formed a permanent duo with Emanuel Rego . Zé Marco and Emanuel immediately established themselves in the international elite with several tournament wins at open tournaments and the world series. At the 1996 Olympic tournament, however, they had to be content with ninth place after losing to the Americans Dodd / Whitmarsh and the Portuguese Maia / Brenha . The following year they were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Los Angeles against the US duo Whitmarsh / Ceman .

In 1998 Zé Marco formed a new duo with Ricardo Santos and was able to win several tournaments again. At the World Cup in Marseille , however, Zé Marco and Ricardo did not get past 17th place. They were more successful at the Olympic tournament in Sydney ; they were only subject to the Americans Blanton / Fonoimoana in the final . In 2001 Zé Marco played with Pará . At the World Cup in Klagenfurt he lost the last sixteen against his previous partner Ricardo and José Loiola in three sets and finished ninth.
