Zachary King or Zach King (born February 4, 1990 in Portland , Oregon , USA ) is an American artist and actor. He gained notoriety for his professionally edited YouTube and Vine videos.

Life

King grew up in Portland, Oregon. At the age of seven he filmed for the first time with a "home video camera". At the age of 14 he began filming and editing videos with semi-professional video equipment. He graduated from Biola University with a Cinema and Media Arts Major in December 2012 .

On December 28, 2014, he married his partner Rachel Holm .

development

King launched his website, FinalCutKing.com, in 2008, selling training and tips on Final Cut Pro video editing software . At the same time he gave further tutorials on the software on his YouTube channel. After gaining a wider audience there, he began to offer seminars for money.

King received the Vidcon Golden Poop Award in 2012 .

In 2011 he posted a Star Wars- inspired video called Jedi Kittens on YouTube that he co-produced. Within a few days, it was accessed a million times. The subsequent sequel Jedi Kittens Strike Back was also viewed a million times.

YouTube recognized him as one of the most promising filmmakers in the US in 2013.

Vines

In September 2013, King joined the video portal Vine as a user. He decided to make intensive use of this for a short time by creating the characteristic 6-second Vine clips . After the increasing response to his "vines", he stuck to the intensive use. Gaining popularity, he performed at Ellen DeGeneres in January 2014, creating several vines in the process. Since 2014 he has been producing his video clips commercially in order to finance a living. In an interview with Independent he said that he would continue to work in the filmmaking profession in the future.

King's short films allowed him to appear on various multi-media platforms.

TikTok

King has been publishing videos on the TikTok platform since 2018 . At the beginning of 2020, with over 43 million subscribers, he took second place when comparing the number of subscribers, even though his videos differ greatly from the usual videos.
