Zachary George "Zach" Roerig (born February 22, 1985 in Montpelier , Ohio ) is an American actor .

Life

Zach Roerig was born in Montpelier, Ohio to Andrea and Daniel Roerig. Zach has a younger sister who was born in 1989. He graduated from Montpelier High School, where he was active as a football player.

From 2005 to 2007 he played the character of Casey Hughes in over 270 episodes of the soap opera Young and Passionate - How life is played. After his departure, Billy Magnussen took over the role.

From 2009 to 2017, Roerig was part of the main cast of the television series Vampire Diaries . It was there that he met Candice Accola , with whom he was in a relationship until mid-2012. In July 2013, it became known that Roerig had a daughter born in January 2011, for whom he received sole custody in September 2016 , as the girl's mother was in prison at the time. Since November 2016, he has been in a relationship with actress Nathalie Kelley , whom he met on the set of Vampire Diaries in 2016 . The two are now separated.
