Zach Whitecloud (born November 28, 1996 in Brandon , Manitoba ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League since March 2018 and for their farm team , the Chicago Wolves , in the American Hockey League plays in the position of defender .

Career

Whitecloud spent most of his junior career in his home province of Manitoba , where he played for numerous junior teams until 2014. Among them was a team that belonged to the Brandon Wheat Kings organization of the Western Hockey League . With the start of the 2014/15 season, the defender ran for the Virden Oil Capitals in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League in the following two years . From there he moved to the school year 2016/17 ungedraftet to the Bemidji State University . In addition to his studies, the defensive player played parallel for the university team in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association , a division in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association .

In his first game year White Cloud made it into the All-Rookie team WCHA and developed as a result one of the most sought-after college - Free-agent season 2017/18. In the meantime, the defender even made his debut in the Canadian national team , but he missed a prospective nomination for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . In March 2018, the Canadian was finally signed by the Vegas Golden Knights from the National Hockey League and given a three-year entry-level contract . In the course of the 2017/18 season , he made his debut for the Golden Knights in the NHL. The season 2018/19 he spent finally fully in the American Hockey League with the farm team Chicago Wolves .
