Zach Wood (* 10. January 1993 in Rowlett , Texas ) is an American American football poker players on the position of Long Snappers . He plays for the New Orleans Saints in the National Football League (NFL).

college

Wood attended Southern Methodist University (SMU) and played for their team, the Mustangs , as both defensive end and long snapper college football , betting a total of 137 tackles and scoring 9 sacks between 2012 and 2015 . He also managed to defend three passports.

NFL

Dallas Cowboys

Wood was not considered in the 2016 NFL Draft , was then tested by the Dallas Cowboys as part of a training camp and was still signed as a free agent . He went through the entire preparation, but could not prevail against the veteran LP Ladouceur and was released before the start of the regular season .
In the 2017 preseason he was again signed by the Cowboys, only to lose again against Ladouceur.

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints had hired Jon Dorenbos as a long snapper in August , but an aortic aneurysm was discovered in him during a routine examination , whereupon he had to end his career. Wood was signed as a substitute just two days before the first game of the season.
As a result, he played every game of the 2017 season for the Saints , and since he was convincing, his contract was extended for another year in February 2018.
