Louis-Philippe "LP" Ladouceur (born March 13, 1981 in Montreal , Quebec ) is a Canadian American football player on the position of long snappers . He is currently active for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League (NFL).
Early years
High school
Ladouceur played the position of linebacker and defensive lineman at Notre Dame High School in Montreal and at John Abbot College.
college
After receiving various offers from American colleges , he decided to play for the University of California, Berkeley. After a knee injury, he lost his place on the defensive and switched to the position of long snappers.
Professional career
CFL
Ladouceur was elected in 2004 in the fourth round of the draft of the Canadian Football League by the Ottawa Renegades , but decided to continue his academic career.
NFL
New Orleans Saints
After "LP" was not selected by any team in the 2005 NFL Draft, he was awarded a contract as a free agent with the New Orleans Saints . Ladouceur was sacked by the Saints on August 29, 2005 without having played a game.
Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys took on Ladouceur during the current 2005 NFL season . Since then, through the end of the 2019 season, he played 237 games for the team. After that season he signed a contract for another year, so that he will play his seventeenth season with the Cowboys.
