Zampaya is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Zampaya is the central town of the canton Zampaya in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Copacabana in the province of Manco Kapac and is located at an altitude of 4009 m on the Yampupata peninsula in Lake Titicaca . The village is located on the northwest slope of the Yampupata ridge, which rises more than 200 m above the water level of the lake.
