State of research
Pastor Dr. Moritz Johner came across a Hermann von Zange in connection with Schenk Heinrich von Schmalegg . According to his research, on March 3, 1282, a farm in Atzenhofen was transferred from its possession to the Baindt monastery for 10½ marks silver .
Research by Matthäus Haag in Vockenweiler has shown that his courtyard, built in 1842, and a barn for Hof Leser, built in 1870, were built from stones from the Zangeburg. Random excavations revealed that a road now covered by fields ran from the Zangeburg towards Vockenweiler.
