historian

In addition to his work as a pastor, he devoted himself to researching the history of the respective places where he was a chaplain or pastor. He did pioneering work in the areas he studied. He, for example, explored the history of the village Wennedach, but also the history of gift giving of Schmalegg , the family Ulrich of Winterstetten . Here he came across a Hermann von Zange who is believed to be connected to the Zangeburg , a castle ruin in the Schmalegger Tobel .

Using the results of his research, he published numerous articles on local history, which were mainly published as supplements to editions of the Anzeiger vom Oberland , the Oberschwäbischer Anzeiger and the Deutsches Volksblatt .
