Zdeňka Vejnarová

Zdeňka Vejnarová (born January 22, 1981 in Jilemnice ) is a former Czech biathlete .

Life

Zdeňka Vejnarová has been running biathlon since 1997. The athlete from Liberec , who started for SKP Jappenx , has been part of the Czech national team since 2002 . The sports teacher made her debut in the World Cup in 2001 in a relay race in Ruhpolding (12th). At the following European Championships in Haute-Maurienne , she won silver in the relay and bronze in sprint and pursuit. So she qualified for the World Championships of the year in Pokljuka , where she was 60th in the sprint and 14th with the relay. In 2001 she also started at the Junior World Championships, where she won silver in the relay, 12th in individual and sprint, and seventh in the pursuit.

The highlight of 2002 was the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City . Here she started in the individual and was a good 23. At the European Championships 2003 in Forni Avoltri Vejnarová again won a silver medal with the relay and 2005 in Novosibirsk bronze. She took part in world championships several times since 2001, but could not achieve any outstanding results , apart from mediocre placements with the relay and with an eighth place in the mixed relay at the Biathlon World Championships 2007 in Antholz . Also in 2010 Zdeňka Vejnarová took part in the Olympic Winter Games. Her best results were 55th place in the pursuit and singles. With the relay she finished 16th.

Zdeňka Vejnarová took part in the World Cup regularly since the 2001/02 season. The outstanding result of her career was a seventh place in the second individual World Cup of the 2005/06 season. With the Czech relay she was able to place well several times, the best in 2003 at the race at Holmenkollen in Oslo, where the relay came in fifth. After the 2010/2011 season , Zdeňka Vejnarová ended her career.
