Hasman 1960

Zdeněk Hasman (born January 30, 1938 in Plzeň ) is a former Czechoslovak cyclist who was active in the 1950s and 1960s.

Athletic career

Hasman, Czechoslovak state amateur at the army sports club Dukla Brno , became known for his participation in the three-country stage race, the International Peace Tour, after he had previously achieved successes in stage races in Slovakia and Bulgaria . He made his debut on the 1960 tour , which led from Prague via Warsaw to East Berlin . As the second best of the Czechoslovak team , he was 29th in the overall individual ranking. In 1961 Hasman also started in the Peace Run , but had to give up prematurely. In the 1962 race, he fought for a podium place on the fifth stage from Karl-Marx-Stadt to the Czech Karlsbad when he spurted third place at the same time as the stage winner. In the final accounts he came fourth-best Czechoslovakian in 40th place. Hasman landed in the same place on the 1963 tour , but only fifth in his six-man team. But it was the only peace ride on which he could celebrate a stage win. He spurted it out from a 15-strong group of leaders on the sixth stage of the day from Prešov in Slovakia to Rzeszów in Poland, ahead of Lothar Appler . On the next stage around Warsaw he lost to Lothar Appler in a sprint. The only national title that became known was the Czechoslovak Championship in the individual road race of 1963. He then ended his active career, only 25 years old.
