history

The village of Pöltschen was first mentioned in a document on February 2, 1233. In 1597 Moritz Bastian vZ, supervisor of the electoral rafts and woods, acquired the Neumühl manor (in the village of Pöltschen) from Ernst v. Milkau. His son Hans Bastian I von Zehmen was in command of the Magdeburg Fortress and is immortalized on the prince procession to Dresden. Hans Bastian II von Zehmen set up the “Fabian Sebastian Foundation” for the needy, from whose interest until 1945 socially disadvantaged people received a donation. Both were born on Rittergut Neumühl and grew up here. Hans Bastian II. VZ was chief tax collector of the Neustädter Kreis and a deputy to the state parliament in Dresden. In addition, he was appointed to the electoral secret council and served Johann Georg III. or Friedrich August I. ( August the Strong ). His son Moritz Christoph renewed the basic structure of the mill in 1726. The last owners of the Neumühl manor were Moritz Bastian and Christoph von Zehmen in 1945 .
