Kleinkundorf has been part of the city of Berga / Elster since 1974 .

location

Kleinkundorf is located about two kilometers east of Berga in the middle Elstertal on an elevated area of the Thuringian Slate Mountains , directly on the federal highway 175 towards Werdau and Zwickau . The boundary of the district is heavily cropped with forest and open-cast mining areas from Wismut AG .

history

Kleinkundorf, known at the time as Conradisdorff, was first mentioned in the records of the Landgrave of Meißen in 1387 . In 1427, Kleinkundorf came into the possession of Heinrich von Weide. A short time later, the assets passed to the von Wolffersdorff family to Culmitzsch.

Since the village did not have its own church, the church and school training had to take place in Culmitzsch , one kilometer away . With the first mention of the village mill, the name Kleinkundorf appears in the documents in 1524. 1604 sold the owner Joachim von Wolffersdorf zu Culmitzsch the Vorwerk (free property) to Hieronymus III. for 625 guilders.

From 1816 the village belongs to the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach . The Kleinkundorf fire brigade, appointed in 1847, formed a strong association with Culmitzsch, Friedmannsdorf and Zwirtzschen , which was dissolved a year later. Of the three inns that existed at the turn of the century, only one was able to withstand the passage of time until today. From December 9, 1911, the residents of Kleinkundorf could also use electricity. In 1933 the place had 86 inhabitants, in 1939 there were 94.

The consequences of the Second World War were evident in the village through the accommodation of many expellees , of whom, however, only a few found their permanent home in Kleinkundorf.

There were no sewers or sewers until 1960. The water supply was provided by the in-house or a community well. Two years later, foot and mouth disease ensured that Kleinkundorf was declared a restricted area.

Despite the partial renovation of the local road in the 1980s, which was carried out on one's own initiative, it has not yet been possible to free the road from its serious damage.
