Zdravka Bušić (born November 6, 1950 in Imotski ) is a Croatian politician of the Hrvatska demokratska zajednica (HDZ).

Life

Bušić attended a secondary school in Split until 1967 , then continued her training in Vienna and graduated from college in Cleveland in the US state of Ohio. In 1979 she graduated from Cleveland State University with a degree in political science . She then completed postgraduate studies in library science and computer science at Case Western Reserve University , also in Cleveland. She then worked as an archivist and librarian at various institutions in Ohio.

In 1990 she returned to Yugoslavia and became advisor and office manager to Franjo Tuđman , President of SR Croatia , who has been in office since May 1990 ; she held this position until 1995.

From 1995 to 2003 she was a member of the Croatian Parliament . It was elected in constituency XI, to which the voters without permanent residence in Croatia (so-called diaspora, i.e. emigrants and Croatian citizens living in Bosnia-Herzegovina ) are allocated. Elected to parliament as a candidate of the HDZ, she belonged to a group of five HDZ MPs led by Ivić Pašalić , who split off from the HDZ in 2002 and formed a party to the right of the HDZ called Hrvatski blok - Pokret za modernu Hrvatsku (Croatian Bloc - Movement for a modern Croatia; abbreviated: HB) founded. However, this party did not succeed in entering the Sabor in the 2003 parliamentary elections . A few years after the HB disbanded itself in 2008, Pašalić, Bušić and others rejoined the HDZ in 2012.

From 2004 to 2013 Bušić worked at the National and University Library in Zagreb .

From July 1, 2013 until the end of the 7th electoral period in 2014, she was a member of the HDZ in the European Parliament .

During the reign of Tihomir Orešković from January 22 to October 19, 2016, she was Deputy Foreign Minister Miro Kovač .
