The Neu-Haßlinghausen colliery in Sprockhövel is a former mine in the Haßlinghausen district. The mine was an iron stone mine and was also known as the United Neu-Haßlinghausen colliery .

Mining history

In 1858 began, said trolley bag to sink . The bay was north of the bay house set . The mountains were stable in this area . The shaft was sunk as a barrel-length shaft with a shallow depth of 120 meters. The shaft was rectangular and eight meters wide . Since the shaft was sunk in the Neuflöz seam , the costs for the sinking could in part be paid from the proceeds of the ore extracted during the sinking . In the years 1860 to 1868 both coal iron and hard coal were mined . The mined ores were delivered to the Haßlinger Hütte. In 1867, 886 tons of coal iron stone were mined. In the following year, 52 tons of hard coal were mined. In 1869 a horse-drawn railway to the United Trappe colliery was put into operation. From this year there was no more coal production. After the Haßlinger Hütte was shut down, the Neu-Haßlinghausen colliery was also taken out of service.

Current condition

Little has been left of the Neu-Haßlinghausen colliery. The Sack shaft is now part of the Germany Trail of the AK Sprockhövel.
