The Venus colliery was a hard coal mine in Kirchhörde . Despite the more than fifty years of mining history, the colliery was only in operation for 16 years. The mine belonged to the Märkisches Bergamts district.
Mining history
A length field was awarded on February 23, 1840 . Only a few weeks later, the award was canceled on March 16 of the same year. On August 7, 1847, the length field was awarded again. The Venus colliery was in operation from 1850. In 1854 the mining took place in a Göpelschacht of the Storksbank colliery . In 1855, 16,291 Prussian tons of hard coal were mined. At that time the mine was part of the Brüninghausen jury area . In 1858 the mine was demonstrably in operation. In 1861 the well Wilhelm was to Erbstollensohle of Glückauf Erbstollen deeper geteuft . The pit field of the Venus colliery was then aligned at this level . The excavation was carried out in an easterly direction in the mostly disturbed seam of chicken hedge. The mining area was the Glückauf Erbstollen solved . At that time the mine belonged to the Hörde mining area. Around the following year the operation in the seam chicken hedge was stopped. In order to be able to compensate for this loss, a cross passage was set up east of the Wilhelm shaft and nine pools were raised. With this cross passage the aim was to open up the seams occurring in the southern field. In 1863 the mine was still in operation. At this point in time it was found that the length field awarded was located in the covered Rosina square . In 1865, the Venus colliery was initially still in operation, but it was shut down in the course of the year. In 1896 the beneficiary of the Gottessegen colliery was added. In 1897 the rights of ownership were divided, the Venus I field was assigned to the Glückauf Tiefbau colliery , the rest of the mine field remained in the possession of the Gottessegen colliery.
