history

The municipality of Zelz-Bahren was created on February 5, 1933 through the merger of the municipalities of Bahren and Zelz and initially belonged to the Kemnitz district in the Sorau (Lausitz) district in the Prussian province of Brandenburg . In the year it was founded, the community had 164 inhabitants. After the end of the Second World War and the establishment of the Oder-Neisse border , the part of the municipality of Zelz-Bahren, east of the Lusatian Neisse , became part of Poland and now forms the Siedlec district of the rural municipality of Trzebiel. In 1946 the district of Sorau (Lausitz) was dissolved and the smaller community of Zelz-Bahren became part of the Spremberg district (Lausitz) .

Since the GDR district reform in July 1952, the community has belonged to the Forst district in the Cottbus district . On May 1, 1973, Zelz-Bahren was incorporated into Jerischke , the double village was dissolved and the two villages were no longer named as districts. Before the dissolution, Zelz-Bahren had 83 inhabitants. After reunification , Zelz-Bahren was only in the Forst district and joined the newly founded Spree-Neisse district in 1993 . On December 31, 2001, Jerischke merged with four other municipalities to form the new municipality of Neisse-Malxetal . At the same time, stretchers and Zelz became independent inhabited parts of the community in the Jerischke district.
