history

Kemnitz is a historical vassal property of the former rule of Pförten . In 1746 the rule of Pförten was merged with the rule of Forst . As part of the Forst rule, the place belonged to the Electorate of Saxony until 1806 and then to the Kingdom of Saxony until 1815 . As a result of the resolutions at the Congress of Vienna , Saxony finally had to cede Niederlausitz to the Kingdom of Prussia . In 1816, a comprehensive regional reform was carried out in Prussia, with Kemnitz becoming part of the Sorau (Lausitz) district in the Brandenburg province . In 1844, according to the topographical-statistical overview of the administrative district of Frankfurt adO, Kemnitz had 39 residential buildings with 252 inhabitants, and the village also had a colony and a farm .

In 1867 the municipality of Kemnitz had a total of 222 inhabitants and was divided into the village of Kemnitz with 215 inhabitants and the individually listed water mill Gregors Mühle with seven inhabitants. The village of Kemnitz also included a colony, a farm, an expanded homestead and a bleaching facility . At the beginning of the 20th century, the Kemlitz manor district , which last had around 17 inhabitants, was merged with the municipality of Kemnitz. At the census of December 1, 1910, the community Kemnitz had 274 inhabitants. In addition, Kemnitz was the seat of the administrative district of the same name , which, in addition to Kemnitz, also included the communities of Bahren , Buchholz, Erlenholz, Kalke and Zelz . In February 1933 the municipalities of Bahren and Zelz merged within the district to form the municipality of Zelz-Bahren . After the end of the Second World War , the Forst rule was dissolved, the last owner and thus also the last lords of Kemnitz was the von Brühl family . The Kemnitz district was also dissolved.

After the Second World War and the establishment of the Oder-Neisse border on August 2, 1945, Kemnitz became part of Poland. The place was renamed Kamienica nad Nysą Łużycką, the German residents were expelled and the village was occupied by Polish new settlers. On June 28, 1946, Kamienica nad Nysą Łużycką was incorporated into Trzebiel. At first the place belonged to the Wroclaw Voivodeship , in 1950 Kamienica then came to the newly founded Zielona Góra Voivodeship . From October 1, 1954, Kamienica nad Nysą Łużycką belonged administratively to Gromada Trzebiel , which in turn merged on January 1, 1973 with Gromada Niwica to form today's rural municipality Trzebiel. In 1998 there was another territorial reform in Poland, since then the place has belonged to the Lubusz Voivodeship.
