Dębinka ( German  Tzschecheln , 1937-1945 Eichenrode , Lower Sorbian Tśechlin ) is a place in the Polish voivodeship of Lubusz and belongs to the rural community Trzebiel (Triebel) in the powiat Żarski (district Kreisary (Sorau) ).

Geographical location and transport links

Dębinka is eight kilometers northeast of Trzebiel on a side road that leads from Cielmów (Zilmsdorf) on Voivodeship road 294 to Pietrzyków (Pitschkau) . In addition, side streets from Czerna (Grünaue) and Grabów (Grabow) end in the town . The village is called "Tuplice Dębinka" railway station on the railway line Łódź Kaliska - Tuplice .

history

The small Gutsdorf , formerly known as Tzschecheln , with its districts Buschmühle, Obermühle and Niedermühle , became an official village in 1874 and thus gave its name to a newly established district . It belonged to 1945 the county Sorau in the administrative district of Frankfurt in the Prussian province of Brandenburg .

With an area of ​​4,353 km 2 , Tzschecheln had a total of 387 inhabitants in 1895. In 1910 their number was 368 and rose to 519 by 1925 (with 136 households). The community area increased to 9,026 km 2 by 1931 , while the population fell to 491 in 1933 and was 477 in 1939.

Tzschecheln had its own registry office , while the district court was in Triebel (now in Polish: Trzebiel), the regional court in Guben and the higher regional court in Berlin .

On October 18, 1937, Tzschecheln was renamed Eichenrode (Niederlausitz) in the course of the ideologically motivated displacement of Sorbian place names in Lausitz . As a result of the war, the place came to Poland in 1945 and was given the Polish name "Dębinka". Today he is a Schulzenamt (Polish: sołectwo) in the association of Gmina Trzebiel in Powiat Żarski , from 1975 to 1998 in the Zielona Góra (Grünberg) voivodeship , and since then in the Lebus voivodeship .

Before 1945, the majority of the population of Tzschecheln and Eichenrodes was Protestant . The village was parish seat and belonged to the parish of Sorau in the ecclesiastical province of Brandenburg of the Prussian Union of churches . The Catholic church members were incorporated into the diocese of Breslau .

Today the inhabitants of Dębinka are almost without exception Catholic. The former Protestant church in the village is now their parish church, which has been consecrated under the name "Holy Cross Church" ( Kościół pw. Podwyższenia Swiętego = "Church of the Exaltation of the Cross"). It is a branch church of the parish Tuplice (Teuplitz) , which belongs to the deanery Łęknica (Lugnitz) in the diocese of Zielona Góra-Gorzów (Grünberg-Landsberg) of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland .
