Zenéy van der Walt (born May 22, 2000 ) is a South African hurdler who specializes in the 400 meter distance .

Athletic career

Zenéy van der Walt gained her first international experience in 2017 at the Youth World Championships in Nairobi , where she won the gold medal in the hurdles in 58.23 seconds and the bronze medal in the mixed South African relay in 3: 24.45 minutes. The following year she won the U20 World Championships in Tampere in 55.34 s and retired from the 4 x 400 meter relay with 3: 50.39 min in advance. In 2019 she had to admit defeat only to the Italian Ayomide Folorunso at the Summer Universiade in Naples in 55.73 s and finished seventh with the relay in 3: 35.97 min. At the end of August she took part in the Africa Games in Rabat for the first time , where she finished fourth in 57.67 seconds and fifth in the relay in 3: 41.17 minutes.

In 2019 van der Walt won the South African Athletics Championships in the 400-meter hurdles.
