The Zentralverband Karosserie- und Fahrzeugtechnik e. V. (ZKF) is the professional and business association for companies in the body and vehicle construction . He is the merger of state guild associations and national guilds of body and vehicle builders Craft and technically or economically of related crafts in the Federal Republic of Germany. It is a legal person under civil law in the legal form of a registered association . The inclusion of the individual companies takes place i. d. The association is based in Friedberg (Hesse) . Peter Börner has been President since May 19, 2011. The board is divided into executive, narrow and extended board.

The ZKF is a member of the Central Association of German Crafts (ZDH) . As one of 36 leading trade associations, it represents the association side in the ZDH, i.e. the Entrepreneurs' Association of German Crafts (UDH). The ZKF has been a member of the World Association Internationale des Réparateurs en Carrosserie (AIRC) since 1980.

From 1954 to 1989 the management was with Horst Sanden, from 1990 to 2016 for 27 years with Dr. Klaus Weichtmann. Thomas Aukamm has been running the ZKF since 2017.

history

The first amalgamation of the guilds of the German wheelwright trade at that time took place in 1875. In the guild , rules of the Wagner profession were drawn up and monitored, e.g. B. Training, working hours, product quality and prices. The wagons did the woodwork and then made the complete bike. Other trades were blacksmiths (fitting of wooden parts), locksmiths (installation of door locks), saddlers and painters (finishing).

The Zentralverband Karosserie- und Fahrzeugtechnik e. V., based in Frankfurt am Main , was founded on December 1, 1949; the first president was Alfred Krebs.

The ZKF has been a member of the World Association Internationale des Réparateurs en Carrosserie (AIRC) since 1980 .

The first move of the office from Frankfurt to Bad Vilbel took place in 1992. One year later, the Eurogarant specialist operating system was introduced as the successor to the TÜV-certified specialist company. Since 1996 the ZKF has been a partner in the Motor Vehicle Technology Institute (KTI) in Lohfelden , which previously operated as the "ASA workshop".

In 1998 the subsidiary EUROGARANT AutoService AG was founded with a focus on centralized purchasing of body parts, and later also other goods and services with a focus on accident claims brokerage. The later ZKF President Friedrich Nagel became the first chairman of the supervisory board. In 2001, the Eurogarant Commercial Vehicle Service Company (ENS) was founded.

In 2007 the ZKF and the ZDK (Central Association of the German Motor Vehicle Industry) founded the Association for Vehicle Technology and Painting (IFL). The aim of the IFL is to find correct or realistic working hours for the area of ​​accident repairs and painting and to establish them on the market.

From the beginning in 1949, the ZKF took over the management of the State Association of Hesse and of the body and vehicle builders' guild in Frankfurt / Wiesbaden. In 2010 the State Association of Hesse was transferred to the working group of the Hessian body and vehicle construction guilds. The ZKF has also always taken over the management of the foundation of the German wheelwright and car body construction trade founded in Berlin in 1935. The traditional foundation promotes the next generation of professionals and the performance competition of the German craft and promotes participation in the professional world championships. In 2015 the office moved from Bad Vilbel to Friedberg (Hesse) .

Since January 2016, the ZKF has been managing the bodywork and vehicle builders' guild for the Main-Kinzig district.

Courses and seminars

Continuing education and training is a focus of the ZKF and its member companies. The ZKF offers technical and non-technical courses through a joint academy with the subsidiary EUROGARANT AutoService AG.

Trade journal

The specialist magazine "Fahrzeug + Kar itself" is the official magazine of the body and vehicle construction trade of the ZKF. It provides companies with important information from the fields of technology, business and politics on a monthly basis. The magazine is published by Vogel Verlag (Vogel Business Media).
