Zerz , also known as the Zerzer Valley , is a side valley of the Vinschgau or upper Adige Valley in South Tyrol and belongs to the Malser fraction Burgeis . The natural high valley, which branches off at the Haidersee in a south-westerly direction into the Sesvenna group, is considered one of the most beautiful valleys in the Upper Venosta Valley. The Bruggeralm, the Oberdörferalm and the ruins of the Kircheralm are located in Zerz. After Bruggeralm the valley divides at the crest of Vernungspitzen in the striving to the southwest Oberdorfertal that in a shallow notch ( 2338  m ) to the Schlinig passes, and against the north-west direction Rojental leading Kirchbergtal , at whose end the Piz Rasass ( 2941  m ) rises above the lake of the same name.

However, the relatively small valley has a lot to tell. Numerous legends, myths, sagas and also mysterious true events can be told about this valley. At the entrance to the valley is the St. Martin's Chapel, on which two panels with diagrams of the sagas and legends are attached.

Zerz can be reached from St. Valentin auf der Haide as well as from Watles , Rojen and Schlinig .
