Zhongnan
Zhongnan ( Chinese 中南 , Pinyin Zhōngnán , short for: 中南 地區 / 中南 地区 , Zhōngnán Dìqū - " Central and South China Region ") is the Chinese name for the greater central and southern China . The term is made up of the back parts of the terms Huazhong ( 華中 / 华中 , Huázhōng - "Central China") and Huanan ( 華南 / 华南 , Huánán - "South China"). Here, Hua ( 華 / 华 , Huá ) an acronym for China ( 中華 / 中华 , Zhōnghuá ).
The Zhongnan metropolitan area comprises the following eight provincial administrative units.
