Zhou Xun

Zhou Xun ( Chinese  周迅 , Pinyin Zhōu Xùn ; born October 18, 1974 in Quzhou , Zhejiang , People's Republic of China ) is a Chinese actress and singer .

Life

Zhou was born in Quzhou on October 18, 1974. Her father, Zhōu Tiānníng, was a projectionist and her mother, Chén Yǐqín, worked in a department store. Zhou later attended the Zhejiang Arts Institute, which solidified her interest in the arts of acting.

In addition to her acting career, Zhou has contributed songs to the soundtracks of several films and released two studio albums.

In 2010 she received the Champions of Earth Award .

Acting career

Zhou received international attention for her roles in Suzhou River (2000) and Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress (2002), and won the Best Actress Award at the 15th Paris Film Festival .

In 2005 Zhou played for the first time in a Hong Kong production, in Peter Chan's Perhaps Love . She received many prizes for her work, including a. the Hong Kong Film Award . In 2012 she played the role of Yoona ~ 939 in the German-American literary film adaptation of Cloud Atlas, directed by Tom Tykwer and the Wachowski siblings .
