history
Zinzow shows many settlement features from earlier times. To the north-west and south-east are larger burial mounds from the Bronze Age (1800 to 600 BC ), and to the east there is a Slavic castle wall (600 to 1200). A visible ground monument has not yet been classified, it is located in the north-west of the village and is either a Bronze Age barrow or an early German (from 1230) tower hill . Some early German ceramic finds speak for the latter. Evidence excavations are not planned.
Zinzow was first recorded as "Zinsow" in 1618 on the Lubin map . The Slavic name is interpreted as "Heubach" or "Wiesenbach".
Zinzow was an old possession of the von Schwerin family , initially as a pertinence to Putzar . Later the estate with 1119 hectares became an independent estate of one of the many lines of the von Schwerin family. As was customary at the time, the representative mansion stands a little away from the estate in the large and well-preserved castle park. The building is a two-storey plastered construction over a basement with a stepped and extended mansard roof. It was built in 1908 in the neo-baroque style by Maximilian Graf von Schwerin. On the courtyard and garden side there is a three-axis central projection with colossal pilasters, while that of the courtyard front has a flat arched gable and a relief of a coat of arms. The extensive park was created with the castle.
The last owner before 1945 was Jürgen Werner Graf von Schwerin.
The castle has been private property since 1997. Guest rooms were set up in the castle. Exhibitions and concerts take place here. The farm also includes the Schloss Zinzow distillery , which is classified as a technical as well as an architectural monument.
On January 1, 1999, the previously independent Zinzow was incorporated into Boldekow.
