Zirndorf city forest
The Zirndorfer urban forest is a natural forest area, forest reserve status in the field of Middle Franconian city Zirndorf ( Bayern ha) with an area of about 82. history

Plants and animal species
The Zirndorfer Stadtwald consists largely of pines mixed with deciduous trees. The trees are predominantly on castle sandstone .
The forest is home to rare animal species and is therefore a special protected area of European interest in the Natura 2000 habitat network. Various bat species ( Bechstein's bat , brown long-eared bat , fringed bat and water bat ) and the black woodpecker live in the city forest . Together with the neighboring Fürth city forest, the Zirndorfer Stadtwald forms the largest known winter quarters for mouse-eared bats in the Central Franconian basin (over 50 animals of this species were counted in 1998).
