The Cistercian Abbey Bonham was 1223-1395 a monastery of Cistercian nuns in Sainte-Marie-Kerque , Nord in France .

history

The Bonham Monastery, founded in 1223 southwest of Dunkirk , was settled by Blendecques . In 1395, the economic ruin of the monastery made it necessary to dissolve and reintegrate it to Blendecques. Bonham belongs to a group of 13 Cistercian convents ( Cistercian Abbey of Beaupré-sur-la-Lys , Blendecques , Bonham, La Brayelle , Flines , Fontenelle , Marquette , Les Prés , Ravensberg , Le Verger , Le Vivier , Willencourt , La Woestyne ) that are established around 1200 were privately donated within a short period of time and in a small space and there are only five Cistercian monasteries ( Cercamp , Clairmarais , Longvillers , Loos and Vaucelles ).
