Reetz Cistercian Convent

The Cistercian monastery Reetz (Polish: Recz ) was from 1296 to 1552 a monastery of the Cistercian women in Recz , West Pomeranian Voivodeship , Powiat Choszczeński (Arnswalde district) in Poland.

history

Otto IV of Brandenburg founded a monastery on the banks of the Ina in 1296 , which was settled by Cistercian women from the Stettin Abbey (and possibly the Marienfließ monastery ). The supervision was in the hands of Marienwalde Monastery . Margrave Johann von Küstrin dissolved it in 1552. In 1827 the last remaining buildings were demolished. Parts of the church furnishings are in the parish church of Recz and in museums. The former monastery is part of the Cistercian Road .
