Zoff is a band from Iserlohn and was counted to the Neue Deutsche Welle .
history
The band was founded in 1979 by Reiner Hänsch . In the same year won Zoff the prize as best group in jazz - and rock - music festival JazzBilzen in Belgium Bilzen . In 1980 the band was awarded the German Phono Academy Prize and signed by Ralph Siegel's record company Jupiter Records .
In the following years Zoff released three LPs , seven singles and a maxi single. The single Sauerland became the band's greatest success in 1983 . The line-up changed occasionally: Thomas Hesse took the place of Hans Wegerhoff and was in turn replaced by Martin Köhmstedt. After Melo Sobiray, Jürgen Düsterloh, Gerd Spree and Achim Czech were the drummers one after the other. Andreas Wulf was replaced by Jan Kazda.
In 1984, the band broke up - according Hänsch from a variety of reasons, including, among other things, a dissatisfaction with the way the management and the record company included.
Zoff has been playing live again since 2003 , but with a different line-up than in 1984. Reiner Hänsch (vocals), Jan Kazda (bass), Reiner Burmann (keyboard) and Martin Köhmstedt (guitar) are still part of the original line-up. New additions are Wolf Simon (drums, 2003 to 2006), Jörg Hedtmann (drums, from 2007), Dirk Seiler (drums from 2014), Ingo Meyer (guitar), Katrin Schmitt (accompanying vocals) and Jörg Hamers (percussion, accompanying vocals).
