Zorn is a black metal band from the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis in Baden-Württemberg .

In 2010 the singer and drummer Sabnock left the band for personal reasons. In the same year, the albums Schwarz Metall and Menschenfeind were re-released along with bonus tracks via Helheim Productions.

On November 9, 2010 the breakup of the band Zorn was announced in the press. On January 11, 2011, the A-Blaze announced that the band would continue in the future and that they would introduce their new singer with the release of the EP Zorn . This was recorded at the end of 2010, it was released on February 18, 2011 in a limited edition via Asatru Klangwerke.

Music style and lyrics

Markus Eck described the music on the debut album Schwarz Metall as “infernal and abnormally mangy Black Metal, which resounds with enormous vehemence and is created by conspiratorial idealists for such people. Anyone who rashly and precociously concludes that primitive - and unidentified - devilish march music will only be right to a certain extent. ”The band“ consciously relies on primitivity ”, but“ their musical profanity is elevated to the purest culture ”. The musicians are well-versed, and "neither maturity nor compositional talent can be denied". The band sees itself “in the glorious tradition of elitist occult firing squads like Beherit or Darkthrone . But old Gorgoroths also sound constantly between the misanthropic scores. ”Their songs are usually written in German. Until now the band has not had a live performance and, according to their own statement, is not interested in playing their music live.

The band calls their music "Terror Black Metal", the lyrics are very often of an extreme nature. The former drummer and singer Sabnock cited "hatred of humanity and the contempt for Christianity" as inspiration for his lyrics. He referred to humans as "pathogens [...] which oppose the laws of nature. People have moved away from their nature, their origins. That is why nature will strike back. That is what 'Endsieg' is about and nothing else. Black Metal was never tolerant, it has to be and stay intolerant: against enemies. Otherwise it's not Black Metal. Anyone who sympathizes with Christian charity has no place in Black Metal ”. In addition to anti-Christian and anti-human statements, the band makes use of 666 National Socialist jargons in their song titles such as Kristallnacht , Der totale Krieg , Weltmacht or Niedergang and Final Sieg. According to Sabnock, however, the last-mentioned song is about nature's “counterstrike” against the “human pathogen”. In 2009 the band released a t-shirt that read "I am not racist, I hate everyone". In contrast, the labels Hellkult Produktions and Christhunt Productions , on which Zorn published, among other things, are clearly close to NSBM.
