Zschepkau is a village in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district and part of Bitterfeld-Wolfen .

Zschepkau is located between Rödgen and Thalheim in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld, in the southeast of the state of Saxony-Anhalt directly on the federal motorway 9 .

history
Zschepkau was first mentioned in a document in 1156. In the meantime, for example, it was named Ceperkowe and Zscheperkow. As a fiefdom it belonged to the communities of Löberitz and Reuden . Until 1815 the place belonged to the Electoral Office of Zörbig . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna he came to Prussia and in 1816 the district Bitterfeld in the administrative district of Merseburg of the Province of Saxony assigned to which he belonged until 1944th
In World War II Zschepkau was badly affected. Shortly before the end of the war, the chimney of the schnapps distillery (in today's distillery way) was mistaken for the Wolfen power plant in the thick fog. 104 American bombs were dropped on Zschepkau and the adjacent fields.
On July 1, 1950, Zschepkau was incorporated into Rödgen. From March 15, 2004 to June 30, 2007 the village belonged to the city of Wolfen . In the course of the district reform in 2007 and the associated formation of the city of Bitterfeld-Wolfen, Zschepkau became part of this new city.

There is the dog boxer club Zschepkau eV, the fire brigade dance and homeland club (FTH) Zschepkau eV, the volunteer fire brigade Zschepkau and the women's club.
