The Zuger Sinfonietta is a chamber orchestra in the canton of Zug .

history

The Zuger Sinfonietta was founded in 1998. In her concert programs she combines classical music with other art genres such as theater, drama, film, video, dance, painting, literature as well as with different musical styles such as jazz , folk music, electronics or improvisation.

The orchestra works with artists such as Kolja Blacher , Olli Mustonen , Chiara Skerath, Dimitri Ashkenazy , Francesco Tristano , Thomas Hürlimann , Christian Poltéra, Paul Meyer, Benjamin Schmid , Eliana Burki and Giora Feidman .

Since the summer of 2016 the orchestra has been holding its own subscription concert series in the Lorzensaal Cham . In addition, performances at the Zug Theater and Music Society and concerts with Zug choirs, partners and cultural associations are on the concert schedule.

The Zuger Sinfonietta has appeared at the Lucerne Festival , Davos Festival, Murten Classics , Stubete am See and other Swiss organizers as well as live concert recordings on Radio SRF2 . Music education projects are developed and carried out together with various partners.

The Zuger Sinfonietta receives subsidies from the city and canton of Zug , as well as contributions from foundations, communities, sponsors and its own group of patrons.
